Did Kinji Fukasaku really make watching your high school crush die in your arms seem romantic?! Made me feel like I missed out on something lol

Also: updated my list of potential baby names more than once watching this film. I have a soft spot for Japanese names, apparently

Hats off to Monsieur Godard for nearly plunging me into an existential crisis. The film definitely makes you reconsider consumerism and life in modern France, but some of the monologues were a bit too vague for my taste.

I really enjoyed the coffee shot (how could you not?), the "Is this a hotel for Jews? It has only one star" joke, and the moment when I looked into Juliette's eyes as she broke the fourth wall. I nearly kicked my feet with joy—she’s just so stunning.

It was an enjoyable watch, but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting it anytime soon. Any other must-sees from Godard?

Was watching a YouTube-video that made fun of this film. Then I remembered 16 year old me, who searched the whole internet to watch this film. It was so bad that I started playing FIFA instead, leaving the film on for background noise purposes only.

It is somewhat unsettling to see Nicole Kidman licking milk from a saucer, sitting on her hands and knees.

True to life, breaking taboos. A strong film by Halina Reijn.

George Michael on the soundtrack: great choice.
Hard Techno on the soundtrack: terrible choice.
