  Amazing visuals, haunting ambience. Lots of spit and mouth foam, which I could do without, but overall gorgeous and dramatic. Enough gore to keep it horrific, but not so much to distract from the romance. Some corny elements leave me with a “meh” feeling, so can’t give it a full 5-stars, but glad to have seen it in theaters.

  Painful and unsettling. Difficult to watch, but impossible to look away.

  It’s clear that Demi Moore’s transformation throughout the film is a nod to today’s cosmetic medications and procedures that promise a “quick fix”. Though a drastic portrayal of the path of these quick fixes, the message holds value and its warning demands the attention of American society. You can feel this film’s French-ness, in the best, most uncomfortable way.
