“Can we watch something happy?”
This was the exact line in the film where I went from pretty scared to beyond terrified. It brought me back to my own childhood where I would look down my house’s dark hallway and be afraid of whatever was at the end. It made me think of all the times I watched something relatively scary for a 5 year old and ask my parents that exact same question so I wouldn’t be afraid anymore.…

Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla 2002
Saw in theaters on Godzilla day, which definitely heightened the experience for me. Characters aren’t awful but like most Godzilla movies don’t bring much to the table. Godzillas introduction was absolutely stellar and such a cool opening. Fight scenes were very fun to watch as well, who doesn’t love over the top explorations for fake buildings? Some eh cgi but hey it’s the early 2000’s what do you expect.
Overall a really fun time, if not a little slow in some places
