WOW, i knew it would be a memorable watch but the plot and writing were so much better than i thought.
the feminist messaging was on the nose but to me, not distasteful or cringe woke. perhaps due to margot robbie lol. i like how greta gerwig playfully explored patriarchy and executed the manospherification of barbieland. ryan gosling was the perfect casting for ken, the choreography and visuals during the ken war were so fun. it was just effortlessly funny while maintaining the overarching theme of female empowerment and fighting to free yourself from the gender expectations that limit women.
