  Before seeing Minus One, I knew the destruction and battles needed to be watched in theaters.

  And that would have been enough.

  I was not expecting to be glued to the screen for a generous two hours.

  I certainly was not expecting to be taken on an emotional roller coaster with characters who were inspiring, social&cultural themes that were challenging, and a musical score with similar impact to John Williams' Phantom Menace.

  If I hadn't watched an actual nuke blow up in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer
  (which is unfair),
  Godzilla Minus One would be my favorite theater experience in 2023

  by a mile.

  There were MOMENTS that were really special (almost made me tear-up, or squirm in my seat) DROWNING in uninspired crap
  (felt empty, and looked like stock footage)

  It honestly felt like a Chat GPT movie (or whatever that AI thing is called) periodically interrupted by Gareth Edward's passionate moments of genius.

  If that WERE the case, would that be considered irony?
