I could only get halfway through in my rewatch. One of the most annoying movies I’ve ever seen, and seemingly designed to piss me off.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 2019
I walked out of the theatre (metaphorically, in a wheelchair) wondering why I hate this movie so much, and as I put a half star for my rating it dawned on me:
This movie is lazy.
The special effects team worked hard on it, the makeup and production design worked hard on it, but everyone else? No.
The script is atrocious, full of awful copying of the Marvel formula to the point where it became grating. Humor in Star Wars…

The use of special effects is the movie’s biggest watershed moment as it will certainly inspire legions of future directors to also manipulate the uncanny valley with computer graphics to create such fear and despair within the viewer.
