Walking out of the movies, I felt a sense of emptiness, as though nothing had truly happened. The story doesn’t really progress, and neither do the characters. Harris leaves without exposing Romy, who remains in her role as the all-powerful CEO. She continues to sleep with her husband while fantasizing about Harris. In the end, nothing really changes.
With a bit of distance, I realized that, in some ways, it’s a good thing this film has gone mainstream. At least…
