  It's not necessary to create a strong female character in a period film that you have to listen every 10 seconds that "she's extraordinary", "she doesn't behave like a lady","she's so clever for being a girl" "OMG she doesn't like to wear dresses",... I mean, you can say the same message without being annoying.
  In conclusion: cheap feminism and a terrible script.
