Takeshi Kitano's work is characterized by two souls: one is very violent,pessimistic and dark( Violent Cop, Outrage, Sonatine), the other is more peaceful,quiet and loving ( A scene at the sea, Kikujiro, Dolls) and everything is drenched in a bit of surrealism and dark comedy.
