  The tagline for this movie is literally: KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL. That said, I’m genuinely surprised this movie hasn’t found some kind of cult resurgence in popularity amongst the Far/Alt-Right Fox News/MAGA crowd as it basically serves as a prophetic manifesto of the radicalized politicization of “the other” regardless of who or what it may be; in this case drug culture. However, I would also argue that this movie has an embedded moral lesson that serves more as a subtle warning…

  This movie starting with the sound of falling rain and a Tangerine Dream score is such a vibe; there’d be no Oneohtrix Point Never scores without Tangerine Dream scores. Love how Mann pretty much mined his Manhunter cast from minor extras roles in this movie. And get yourself someone the way Willie Nelson looks at you while in prison
