Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2021
The script is very solid and it has amazing cinematography but this was not really a comedy film or operating quite in the same genre as the original movies. And why is is it over two hours long? I feel like there was a lot of filler that would have not made the Final Cut when people were still shooting on film.
Overall though, a good watch. Certainly made to appeal to kids (for the whole storytelling) and their parents…

Unthinkable 2010
A murder mystery/thriller story gets cut short and turns into an hour-long excruciating display of extra-judicial torture carried out by state-authority. There is some really good acting in this movie. I just can not comprehend the choices made that would even lead into the production of this movie based on this script. It feels like someone tried to be edgy but in the wrong genre. Not an enjoyable watch if you have any moral compass.

This movie is so damn nostalgic you may want to sit down with a bourbon and a cigar to watch it.
This is a war movie in which you can feel that love was put in every detail. It is storytelling without tricks that doesn’t need a fancy fantasy world to draw the attention. In fact, you can tell it doesn’t need this attention at all to be beautiful. And this is not why you should watch it but it is the reason for that you know why you watched it when you did.

I watched the newly restored version. Since this is such a historical document, I’m very sad about the choice of giving it a "modern" soundtrack rather than using something that is more closer to the type of music a live ensemble would have played at that time.
