I think the runtime overall hurt this movie the most. The visuals are very interesting and you absolutely can understand the message behind the story; however, the weight of that message is somewhat diminished by the limited ability to develop the 2 characters. I don't think 58 minutes was enough to get the full emotional punch on the film's climax. This film will undoubtedly hit many people VERY hard, so the lack of personal experience regarding this kind of dynamic doesn't allow for a higher score. A very visual expierence that shows more than tells: for better and for worse.

There will always be a subset of movies that speaks directly to the present culture it was made in, and this one is one of the most important for 21st century Americans. This movie critically humanizes what we all have become so numb to, and its a difficult but necessary shoes to walk into.
