wow. just wow. a hauntingly gorgeous, utterly terrifying, viscerally painful story of loss, grief, the passage of time, and the voyage to genuine closure.

a semi-good movie if you don’t compare it to the first. i can see the concept - it was good and the marketing team captured it well. the movie, however, did not and i believe that’s evident. wasted lady gaga as Lee and the ending was pretty infuriating. musical numbers were awesome (didn’t contribute much narratively speaking) and Hildur’s score (though minimally utilized) was incredible as always. acting was great, plot was interesting, but ultimately did not achieve what it set out to.
criminal. the whole show needs to be rewritten and the writers completely removed and replaced. this show had the potential to be absolutely incredible - instead it is an incredible misstep, and even that description is generous. some of the worst writing i’ve seen in mainstream media and has the kinetic potential to ruin this franchise before it has the chance to begin. this one episode single-handedly destroyed penguin’s character. i am convinced the positive reviews are fake-accounts hired to promote this awful tv show.
