Awww i loved it. I might not watch it again though it was a little bit tough to watch. I really really appreciated the narrative. A real story of show business in America - a vignette of what happens, to a degree, to MOST performers. Reminded me a bit of Nomadland.
Jamie Lee Curtis tore. Brenda SONG TORE!!!! Pamela Anderson was not as good but she’s just fucking iconic. The person who played the daughter was not good … like openly not good. Was I missing something?
Anyway really solid movie, they did a good job. I would have loved to work on it

Straight cis people are bored and dying to subvert the power dynamics in their relationships. Babygirl is a structureless illustration of straight cis people exploring different aspects of their white, rich, American, cisgender heterosexuality. It was made without a sincere interest in real kink. Why would you release this in 2025? What is culturally bold about this?

feeling devastated for everyone who was involved in the making of this film- you can kind of tell everyone’s been traumatized by it in different ways
really interesting concept that could have been made actually cool if narcissism, male insecurity, and a desperate attempt to be contemporary hadn’t clouded the production of it.
