I’m sorry but Anna Kendrick’s character just didn’t feel real — the tone on set felt really anachronistic (though admittedly I don’t know what the real episode is like, maybe it’s accurate). I think at the end of the day this is of course a morbidly interesting story so the movie moves by quickly; but we just get so little interiority that it fell emotionally flat for me.

I thought I would like more :/ The side characters are excellent, they get such funny and tender moments even in their limited time onscreen. The romance here just didn’t do it for me. I’m not sure why they’re in love. But I guess with sufficiently beautiful people sometimes there is no real why.
