The Shape of Water 2017
Never trust a man—even when he looks flat down there.
Whimsical and dark, coated with del Toro's signature aesthetics and charm. This is one of those movies that has something to say without trying too hard to say it. There are moments that require a healthy suspension of disbelief, but overall this is a wonderful film with plenty of humor, a fairytale narrative, and a sweet romance.

I wanted to say, in another life, I would be happy just doing laundry and taxes with you.
Well, I certainly wasn't expecting to cry through the entirety of the last 45 minutes of this movie, but damn—this really struck a chord with me. A new all-timer, that's for sure!
