This movie was beautiful. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Trekking across Australia was just asking for some beautiful cinematography which it delivered for sure. It was crazy how it was a true story. Mia did a great job leading the movie, yet it was hard to connect to such an antisocial person. She really, really wanted to be alone. BUT WHY DID THEY HAVE TO KILL THE DOG?!?!?!!? IT WAS UNNECESSARY. Worth a see though. Just prepare for a few tears.

Refn is my favourite director so I am slowly trying to watch all of his films. This was my third one and, boy I was in for a treat. Very artful and I loved the way it was filmed. It was a very average film. I just found it very boring. The main character is bored with his new job of drone strikes compared to his old pilot job. He misses the flying and the actual action. He gets more and more messed up the more people he kills, understandably. BUT GUESS WHAT?!??!!? I CAN FEEL YOUR BOREDOM TOO. I could never tell where the actual movie was going. This movie was mind-blowing! I went in not knowing what it was about and was pleasantly surprised. An emotional dollar coaster and very heavy, but well worth it. The young actor who plays Steven does amazing and I'd love to see him in something else. This movie makes you feel the high stress that this family experiences and makes you think twice about living with a mental disorder. Not filmed in widescreen, it was very symbolic when they did go full screen. Hard to explain until you see it. Heartbreaking end and very well acted. Definitely go see it!
