Megalopolis 2024
Megalopolis is an incoherent mess. It's misogynistic, it's homophobic, it's transphobic. Coppola's storied career gives him the proficiency in filmmaking to create a window into his aged mind; I don't think he should have.
For the entirety of its 2 hour and 18 minutes, Megalopolis never stops saying things, yet somehow doesn't say anything at all. Despite the film being dedicated to Coppola's late wife, you wouldn't be able to tell he has any reverence for women after watching this. The main function of women here seems to be to having sex with Adam Driver.
