The Princess Bride 1987
As an adult, this movie is the one fairytale that has lost none of its charm and magic. This movie attempts an action, romance, character, and a mystical tone. It does so much but never once feels overwhelming. A great script and a great movie.

Poor Things 2023
I loved "The Lobster" and especially "The Favorite". Frankenstein is also one of my favorite classics. The idea of taking that story, giving it a sexy and dark, and humorous take was exciting.
Many moments lived up to my hopes. Several other moments had me questioning my ethics for enjoying the movie.
Although the allegory on its own is great, the way in which it is presented taints the larger messages and ideas of the movie.
Beyond that, the visuals, costumes, and music had me absolutely thrilled. I long for movies to take visual ventures like this one.
