The Great Buster: A Celebration 2018
An adequate but at times deeply awkward documentary. Keaton’s greatness, the importance of his story, and the sometimes vital and brilliant interviews, outshine Bogdanovich‘s meandering and surface-level biography. The section about Keaton’s later life and work in television is a wonderful exploration of that period of his life and a showcase of seldom-seen material, with good emotional buildup, but all momentum is sacrificed for an extensive saved-til-the-end recap of Keaton’s features.
