    A near perfect film. The 30s really were something weren't they. Delightful, seductive and hilarious. The equation of sex and crime, of pick pocketing and performance and play. It all ties in so nicely with the rhythm of the film, an audiovisual feast of glossy synchronicity. There are some genuinely dazzling sequences all of which serve the undercurrent of the drama without drawing too much attention.     Justin Kurzel certainly isn't the most underrated director out there, but he has to be in the conversation of being underappreciated. Sure his masculine, minimalist style might render his approach one note, but it casts a particularly striking tone and resonance. He's an expert craftsman when it comes to lean, muscular sequences of tension and intensity, with The Order being a pretty excellent example of what he does best.
