The Substance 2024
I loved this so much like actually a new fav. I knew it was going to eat but the symbolism, characters, overt but not so overt misogyny, beauty, ugliness, all of it really blew me away. Almost killing (herself) for some dick was the first time she really pissed me off. I loved it when she stormed out the house and immediately tells her creepy neighbor to fuck off. Still confused about the chicken leg. The mirror scene made me wince. The ending was perfect. Respect the balance. Also all the blood reminded me of the shining in the best way.
