  Not having read the book, this failed as a villain origin story for me. I feel like he is a good person and then he has a very quick progression to shitty with little to no real paradigm shifting event. Each actor played their role well and the visuals were stunning at times. I just think the narrative feels incomplete to me and definitely wanting to read the book to fill in the gaps.
