  Set in an idyllic forest during Holy Week featuring Catholic gore in the Filipino tradition. Depicted the terror of feeling weak and hunted. Great use of sweet harana music. Some scenes felt overdrawn at times.

  The songs in the film speak of an Ati legend. In olden times, a datu had traded their fields for a necklace and a hat made of gold. Now the Ati people weep, their lives bartered away and scattered throughout the mountains.

  The Ati work out this ancient sorrow in many forms:
  The man sharpening his bolo, whose family was massacred by military, who was accused of drinking blood. He is angry; wants to take up arms and fight back.…
