A Woman Under the Influence 1974
I love stories that are small and simple because they become so real and intimate. Mabel is just perfect. Effectively shows how the average man is just stupid, useless, evil, parasitic, soul sucking, etc. Despite Mabel's devastating reality she is full of love and joy, until she is punished for it. Gena Rowlands is an amazing actress. I really love Mabel

first act will always scare the shit out of me, incredible setup but the story gets questionable towards the end (especially at the final twist, which was unnecessary in my opinion.) Overall enjoyable to watch. Lupita Nyong'o is phenomenalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll and i would go to great lengths to see her cast in more horror films...

this movie is amazing
edit: upon my third rewatch i have more to say.... just an absolute delight to watch... captivating, gory, suspenseful and psychological.... John Carpenter mastered horror in this film.... Not really sure the technical film terms to describe why this is so successful at what it's trying to do ...but boy is it good!
