The annual viewing of Groundhog Day was different this year.
I developed an obsession with this movie when I first saw it because of how well the story worked as a metaphor for depression. Besides that, having a character live the same day over and over again allows for more freedom in storytelling and character development than you’d think.
It’s a fascinating way to tell a story — until it becomes your story.

Absolutely fantastic. I’ve NEVER seen a film quite like this before. Like a futuristic or modern day “western” where they take drugs. Anti-imperialist and actually very “anti-western” as far as the western world ideology goes. You really hate the villains and it’s really satisfying to watch this little town win. Just a blast to watch, and at points very tough. VERY violent and gory. Lunga has the mullet to end all mullets. He also has a machete.
