I think I went in expecting a little more… Visually, I was quite happy, but I feel like I was let down ever so slightly in regards to the horror aspect itself. For a non-narrative film, this really stood out and hit home - compiling excellent imagery, shots and music to create the truth surrounding mankind’s destruction of our world.
The name “Koyaanisqatsi” which roughly translates to ‘life out of balance’ really captures the foreboding essence of contrast between nature and technology/humans. The collision of worlds was shown in a very powerful manner through the use of impactful visuals paired with provoking music and critiqued modern life with such menace.
