The Killing Fields 1984
Great Christmas movie to be grateful for what you have and not being in a Khmer Rogue work camp getting regularly humiliated by children. I didn’t love Wasterston, he’s kinda like Leon from Veep for most of the movie but he’s better in the The movie is supposed to be a story of their friendship but I’m told that more than I actually see on screen. Joffe captures the hell of war well and I like the pacing of a slowly tightening noose. I was a little disoriented by the slight shifts from gritty depiction of real violence to 80s Oscar tearjerker.

Revolutionary Road 2008
Kinda misses the mark of the book. It’s pretty stilted and weirdly staged, you can see the seams. Leo does too much, their motivations don’t unfold just plop down on the floor. It could’ve been much more engrossing. Michael Shannon is great and the key to the story which does come out well in the movie.
