I think we've all been stuck at a party with "that atheist." The film works best when Hugh Grant is turning the tables on his two Mormon missionary guests, forcing them to question and even defend their beliefs. The Saw-lite second half isn't quite as good, and the plot is actually ludicrous because of it. The three leads are excellent, though, and make viewing well worth your time.

I loved this one, even though the big twist was spilled by the marketing. In reality, there are several great twists that all feel organic to the film. Sophie Thatcher's Iris is fun, charming, and resourceful as she tries to escape from mediocre boyfriend Jack Quaid. The world-building and cat-and-mouse routine are what make this film work so well.

Another winner in this trilogy, this one more focused on Maxine overcoming the events of X as she tries to go legit in Hollywood. Aesthetically, this isn't quite the period piece as the other films in the series. Ti West throws in a number of refrences to De Palma - which I love - but the film also feels a little too glossy for 1985. It's not a knock, just an obsevation because aesthetics were so important in the first…

More a meditation on women trying and failing to be heard by society than an accurate retelling of the infamous Rodney Alcala episode. Anna Kendrick's stunning directorial debut still packs a punch when it comes to chills.
