Easily the worst film of the Vengeance trilogy. The first hour of this film is so muddled and editorially weird (what the fuck was that awful door-opening scene transition?) that it's hard to believe it's still Park Chan Wook directing it. The film honestly should've been entirely about the parents in the second half of the film. Unfortunately what they're gonna do is a foregone conclusion here, so I was left checking my watch for almost its entire runtime. Booooooring.

More about being a parent/caregiver of a child who has done something terrible than it is about being that child. I love media that examines masculinity in all its flaws, and this did that excellently while simultaneously being a technical marvel and an acting powerhouse showcase.
