love a good scientific explanation for whatever fictional shit is happening on screen
makes it hit so much harder
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
rewatched (hesitantly), somehow disliked it even more. Lee is such an unpleasant character lmao and Eugene is so so painfully boring, which sucks because both actors are great. I appreciate symbolism and surrealism but it was so insanely overdone in this film. It almost felt like the filmmakers were so concerned with making a (visually) stunning and "deep" piece that they decided to include a shit ton of arbitrary, "surreal" moments that are kinda just confusing and don't really develop…
Hilarious but also really long but also entertaining overall but also insufferable characters like holy fuck Vanya is the most annoying twink i've ever encountered in cinema. Genuinely made it hard to watch, especially since I was rooting for my girl Anora while she continuously gaslit herself into thinking they were in love
beauty is on the inside (literally)
conceptually i don't think the plot is super original but I think it the film as a whole was executed in such a cool way. grisly, funny—really liked it
