  It was hard to reconcile the parts of this movie that felt deliberately absurd or even satirical with the parts which seemed so earnest. I feel like this movie was really trying to *say* something about putting your faith into brilliant minds and embracing progress, but it mostly felt like anti-revolutionary neoliberal hogwash.   Reminds me of Oppenheimer in the way it forces you into alignment with the wrong perspective, and never gives you the release of empathizing with the right people. There are so many excellent WWII movies which tell you when to cry, when to be angry; they’re still hard to watch but you feel good after, like you're better for having seen them. This one edges you towards catharsis for the entire runtime and then the lights come up and you’re left in emotional limbo.
