The Batman 2022
This is imo the best live action, big screen adaptation of the caped crusader. I loved how dark and gritty they portrayed this version of Batman and Gotham City without it feeling overly edgy or “too dark”. I think Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne nearly steps over the line into being a bit cringe due to how edgy he portrays the character but it somehow works really well.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish 2022
This is Dreamworks’ best movie in years, and is seriously an absolute masterpiece. Their handling of Puss’s character and the slightly jaded Shrek universe is insane. For a sequel to a middling Shrek spinoff to be THIS good is insane.
The visuals, the animation, the music, the voice acting performances from EVERYONE in the cast, ESPECIALLY Wagner Moura as Death, the story, literally everything about this movie is masterful. It made me cry several times, and I really think the message this movie sends about enjoying and making the most of your life is beautiful and poignant in a modern world where cynicism reigns supreme.
