Nosferatu……….I am pleased to report that I was delighted by this fun, adventurous caper in the mountains of Transylvania! Watching Orlok pursue Lily Rose Depp while her clueless husband got progressively more confused by the entire situation was just the kind of whimsical, almost rom-com esque story I was hoping for from this director.

After watching this movie last night, I tossed and turned, wracked with anxiety over how I would articulate my thoughts on the film, simply desiring to preserve my reputation as a cinephile that I’ve carefully crafted since last Tuesday.
My soul searching has led me to a brutal conclusion. I must tell the truth. And folks, here’s the truth.
I didn’t really get this movie.
In an ironic twist, maybe I’m one of the masses flocking to commercialized Hollywood movies…

No Country for Old Men 2007
In this excellent film, I particularly enjoyed the love-hate dynamic between Llewelyn and Sugar. When they were on the phone and Sugar was threatening to kill Llewelyn and his wife, I felt there was an electric spark and incredible chemistry between the two. Watching them chase one another and almost connect but ultimately fail felt painfully realistic to me.
I also appreciated that this movie included a healthy and positive message by having two of the main characters drink milk rather than glorifying endless alcohol consumption like most Hollywood films.
