deeply affecting paean to life, panning across its essential components (fear, courage, thought) with sensory tact and startling cinematic beauty.
commissioned for the Ten Minutes Older anthology, godard masterfully appraises terror in the face of pain, childlike fragility in death, and the vanishing knowledge of books that will never be read. probably the best short film i’ve ever seen, and does so much with so little time.

Doctor Who: The Star Beast 2023
one star each for tennant & tate, it was fantastic to see them (and jacqueline king) playing off each other again.
besides that, the script was almost entirely lacking in finesse and subtlety, with stiff, expository dialogue and stilted emotional moments like wilfred’s apparent death being played for a cheap laugh - davies needs to rediscover some tonal consistency, hopefully it’s not deserted him over his who hiatus.
