The Substance 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I mostly enjoyed this movie BUT it felt a bit too literal for me. I thought thz theme of physical obsession, patriarchal standards and ageing could have been much more psychologically thought-out. There was a missed opportunity in my opinion around the "Remember you are one" rule.
That being said, the acting was wonderful, I loved the camera angles and color-grading, and kudos to the special FX team.
