The Muppet Christmas Carol 1992
Lowkey went thru the stages of scrooge while watching this — I entered the theater annoyed, stomach hurt, etc etc. Slept for a bit of the beginning of the movie and was generally unentertained for a while… so tell me, why did i leave the theater crying and tingling with joy? Ya. Thats what i thought.

Honestly i didnt expect this one to hit me as hard as it did. The first 20 ish mins were difficult… i feel like i was grasping for some part of a plot that never rly came to me. But the mulberry sequence had me sobbing. The simplicity of these scene(s) completely attacked and reformed my understanding of happiness? Somehow, kiarostami turns death and suicide into an equally beautiful and terrifying experience… the plainness of it all felt so painfully visceral. “You want to give up the taste of cherries?” It all sounds so cliche but would watch 100 times over again
