I was delighted at how much of the original's colour grading they kept, absolutely a visual masterpiece, among other things.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I don't know why people say the writing or story is so rubbish. I really loved this.
This felt really prescient actually. For me, this had such a pervasive atmosphere of anxiety. Like Outrage, it has this air of sexual violence hanging over it. The way Hollis looms over Agnes, the way he continues to refuse to take "no" for an answer, the way he dismisses her in the end ("she was sick and alone. And you're not. Not anymore.").…

The Boy and the Heron 2023
I have THOUGHTS. But I need to sit and process them for a week first. Definitely has some more abstract themes than we're typically used to with Ghibli and for me that is definitely a compliment in this film's favour. Poignant, hilarious and very thought provoking.

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral 1957
Have you ever wanted to see Kirk Douglas play a suicidal gambler with an unnamed respiratory disease? Then this is the movie for you!
In all seriousness, Douglas' performance was the highlight of this film for me. The pacing was a little meandering at times, but the dynamic between Kirk Douglas and Jo Van Fleet was compelling and saddening all at once; and the repartee between Douglas and Burt Lancaster frequently had me laughing out loud. Definitely worth a watch, but I'm also not scrambling to watch it again.
