  I’m so happy I got around to watching this FINALLY, gonna read the book soon! The animation was so cool and I absolutely loved the characters and the story.

  I don’t know much about the Iranian revolution, but now I’m def compelled to learn more ! I’m reading Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, an Iranian-American poet, and it was cool getting historical context for that book through this young girl’s coming of age. I think learning history is a really profound demonstration of empathy and there’s so much media at my disposal there’s really no excuse for me not to learn as much as I can

  I really really enjoyed seeing this in a proper theater setting. I had so much fun watching this again. I adore Mikey as Anora and the rest of the cast was amazing. I was even able to look past Ivan’s cringe this time around.

  Also let’s normalize sitting in silence and soaking in movie endings when the screen turns black. No more clapping before the credits start rolling pls

  my two takeaways from the movie: fake spiritual people are the WORST friends

  I wanted to stand up and clap when that man’s occupation was revealed. Standing ovation, I love that for Dreux 🙏🏼

  Overall, this was funny af and the perfect movie length
