The performance by the two actors Felix kammerer "paul" and Albrecht schuch "Kat" is just outstanding and the fact that this is Felix's first film acting job is even more empressive
The underlying story was compelling, unfortunately close to the truth about an example of awful corporate behavior
The fact that they all randomly receive different weapons could be interpreted as how we are all asked to do the exact same thing (i.e. Succeeding studies in a certain way and not any other) while we all have completely different abilities and background, some people being advantaged naturally or thanks to their family. This is even more the case in the Japanese school system and society where being different is really seen as a problem.
