Steven Spielberg really is a great director. He really knows what to do with the camera; like his instincts are incredible.

And yet, he doesn’t quite excite me. Maybe it’s just that he’s so technically, classically good in an undeniable way, and I do think he had a specific style but I think its because its “classic” that I can recognize it and appreciate it, but I never even think to put him in my list of favorite directors.

Can't stop thinking about this, especially the last moments. I'm very pleased that my second watch lived up to my first viewing. Just as intriguing, funny, strangely moving and of course delightfully bizarre as the first time I saw it. I would love to see Cameron Diaz in more roles like this. Kind of disappointing that her comeback is currently being comprised of Shrek 5 and some Netflix movie with Jamie Foxx when we see what she's capable of.
