thorough thriller v much true to the striking composition of the original with more character work and heavy leaning into the sensuality of vampirism, which i enjoyed. tim burton levels of white people, though. in fact it reminded me of sweeney todd throughout. i wasn’t scared of skarsgård but did feel an unexpected stirring towards dafoe in parts, which will require closer examination.
too much romani stereotyping. almost enough rats.
