  Cool concept, poor execution I think. The fight scenes are overdone and seem vaguely unrealistic despite good ideas (the finger thing was cool). The lighting is shit because it’s a Netflix original. The twists are also very predictable. Have to say though - Noomi Rapace is convincingly 7 different people which is impressive.

  This was visually very impressive - some of the coolest shots I’ve seen in a long time (personal favourite was the opening of the gate at the Count’s castle). However, I found it slightly lacklustre thematically and plot-wise at points. There were some loose threads that weren’t tied up as well such as the travellers at the beginning of the film that were never really alluded to again. I’ve been told that it’s very true to the book but maybe…

  Haley Joel Osmont is incredible, some of the best child acting I’ve ever seen. Genuinely scary in parts and that is one famous twist but it’s done very well
