Like its predecessor the world feels so sterile and empty. To me this is a bug, not a feature. Felt at times like I was watching footage of a museum art installation rather than a $200 million movie. No set feels lived in or "real". As my wife put rather astutely the costume and set designs seem inspired by Kanye West's fashion lines, i.e. dull and BORING.
In spite of my complaints on aesthetics, I was entertained and loved all the Harkonnen parts with Skarsgard and Butler (who is great here). Much more interesting and captivating than the drawn out and overlong Paul/Fremen plot.
