Paddington is a heartwarming adaption of the children’s literary character that brings the charming title character to life through flawless CGI and pitch perfect voice acting from Ben Whishaw. Hugh Bonneville stands out as Henry Brown, a safety conscious father who just wants the best for his children. Nicole Kidman with the help of Peter Capaldi both star as the villains of the film. Millicent (Kidman) does slightly feel like an off-brand Cruella De Vil at times. However, with a…

The Emperor’s New Groove is the first of many collaborations between Disney and the voice talent of John Goodman and what a hit it is! David Spade has never been better and easily shines as the obnoxious, bratty and sly Emperor Kuzco in a career highlight. This movie has everything: an engaging storyline with genuine peril, a memorable villain in Yzma, depicts Incan civilisation in a fun way and serval entertaining side characters. The best of which is Patrick Warburton’s…

Samara x Starbucks. An excellently paced horror short with a killer score and lighting. Solid performances from everyone involved including a creepy acting debut from Kylie Roseanne as the villain of the piece channeling her inner Ringu. I can’t wait to see what they do next, please support small creators so we might get more modern horror like this!

    Tom and Jerry: The Movie

    ★★½

Firstly, I know this isn’t a good movie, but Tom & Jerry is something my brother and I regularly enjoyed when we were children on holiday as it was usually the only thing we could understand on Spanish television. Secondly, how can you take a slapstick comedy duo renowned for being silent and make them talk?! Further to the movies detriment, it chooses to make Tom & Jerry secondary characters whilst making Robyn (a human girl) the protagonist of the piece and…
