So colourful (which films need). I wonder how much fan service there really was in this film. I recognised a lot of the references, but wonder how much of the film I would’ve initially understood without prior knowledge of the series, and equally how much I missed because they were too…
One of those sequels that does everything people loved about the first movie, and really nothing more. If the hits work, the hits work.
Side note: someone please tell me how much Jennifer Coolidge was paid for her screen time because she says like 3 sound bites and that’s it! Crazy x

With the forthcoming popularity of the “musical film” (Wonka, Mean Girls, even something like Joker: Folie À Deux), I was apprehensive of what Wicked would bring. The general public haven’t been biting, and even I haven’t felt the best leaving the cinema after seeing some of those, as if to add fuel to the destroying of the musical renaissance. Long gone are the days of pseudo indie films like The Fault in Our Stars, and even the “Age of Ultron”…
It was alright. I felt even without seeing the stage original, that they left a lot on the cutting room floor (no pun intended).
