  Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2014

  Captain America: The Winter Soldier is surprisingly cogent for a Marvel movie, coming very close to relaying "themes" and "ideas". However, it's not actually about past vs. future or trust and security, and is instead about the different boyfriends Steve Rogers has had throughout his life. There will never be another movie like this again, and that's probably for the best.

  I don't hate everything about Lady Bird. It's a very atmospheric film, well-made and well acted. Unfortunately, I'm not 17 anymore and don't get much out of stories about self-centered arrogant children.   I love Wes Anderson, so it might come as a surprise that I hadn't seen this film until now. I'm glad I fixed that. The Royal Tenenbaums is a film about a dysfunctional family brought together after 17 years, about reconciliation and failure and redemption.
