“I hate her, but I like her voice. She should do more radio.”
If The French Dispatch was Anderson’s tribute to journalism, then this one is his ode to the performing arts.

really glad what happened to the Osage people is being brought to the forefront by a book and this film, absolutely horrific, gruesome, stuff. de niro's portrayal of king hale is one of the most evil characters in a film that i have seen, yet his monologue to dicaprio at ~3 hours in is really poignant, about how people forget what happened and how its "just another tragedy."
great performances all around, and i spied barry corbin as an extra in one scene (cam's dad on modern family). really great soundtrack by robbie robertson as well (RIP).
I think this is me of the most complete and emotional films I’ve ever seen. I need more time to process this. Just got out of the theatre and the nights are getting warmer. Walking around at peace
Will return to this later to feel something but also to understand it and have more complete thoughts.
