I think I can get at what the movie was going for, it simply makes life seem like a horror story. The pacing and sounds used made me jump a few times at what is supposedly a thanksgiving dinner that appears to be normal dysfunctional until the twist happens. I hated it but I feel like the director was going for that.

What can I say? This movie has every element a movie goer is looking for, all crammed into one film. It has strong commentary on society and really draws the viewer in. A rewatch might cause me to view the characters in a different light. I felt for all of the characters involved in the film and was drawn in by every piece of what was going on.

While this was cinematically stunning, up until the ending I was enjoying this film, however the ending just got too surreal for me to properly understand what exactly was going on. A re-watch might bump it up on my rating, however I'm not sure I would re-watch unless introducing it to someone new. It definitely gave me mad David Lynch vibes and I went into it blind without knowing who wrote/directed the movie, I was thinking some elements were similar to Annihilation so I was pretty thrilled when I learned it was the same director. Very strong imagery.
