Writing can't quite hold up for the whole movie after a superb 1st 30 mins but otherwise pretty much exactly what you want outta one of these. Quaid kills, some fun fight/torture scenes that don't overstay there welcome, and a weird dry wit police officer that takes up way too much screen time. Also everyone drive 2000s cars even tho this makes place today, bizarre style choice!

Mickey 17 2025
Didn't really work for me, as good as Robert Pattison is in his dual role I didn't feel like this movie blended it's political commentary together with the more human/moral aspects of the story leading to not a lot of payoff for me at the end. A little too long and should have either embraced the inherent goofiness of the premise more or gone a little harder a la Snowpiecer into a purer sci fi story. Creepers are cool tho would love to see some plushes of them at my local Target.

A Real Pain 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A great movie to chew on for a bit after a watch. Feel like Eisenberg (who does a fine job on and behind the camera) being the director and writer is a pretty big hint on what the intended takeaway is. But Kieran Culkin's performance is so commanding that you'll ultimately find yourself feeling like him at the end, alone and watching the people around you react in their own ways.

The Brutalist 2024
Really a shame A24 wasn't able to distribute a movie about how important immigrants are and how important Pennsylvania is before the election. Very gripping movie but a kinda out of left field ending dropped it a bit for me, but it flies by and doesn't not feel like a 3.5 hour chore you may guess from the runtime. Show to your local struggling architect today!
